About Me

Tia at the Park

I’ve spent hours upon hours wasting time on browsing the Internet: for years I’ve been Tweeting, Pinning, Tumbling, Liking, Subscribing, and even good ol’fashioned Bookmarking. I am a sponge for all that is beautiful and inspiring and I’ve always wanted my own blog, but could never really nail down a focal point for my thoughts. I couldn’t even settle on a name!

Then, one day it struck me – I wanted a blog to share the things I love with the world: baking, design, style, art, photography and FOOD (that last one should score me some followers by default). And nothing makes me happier than helping people! I guess this kind of lands me in the “lifestyle” category, right? Or just makes me a girl.

Who are you?

My name is Tia. I’m a 25-year-old digital content strategist and my life is changing fast! I grew up in a small (80ish thousand people or so) town in northern British Columbia where I graduated from my local university with a commerce degree in marketing. I am always busy with everything from work, to sports and volunteer activities, to exploring my newfound love of the outdoors. My boyfriend and I are beginning a new adventure in Vancouver. Just read a few posts if you want to get to know more about me.

Why “sweets and scribbles”?

The first idea I had for a blog was to make it all about cupcakes. But then I realized I would never have the discipline to churn out that many treats (not to mention the willpower to avoid eating them all). However, baking will still play a part in this blog. Hence, “sweets”. The “scribbles” part of the name kind of lumps everything else together. Random thoughts, life updates, business tips, product reviews and things that inspire me can all be found here.

My favourite things:

  • Rainbows
  • The smell of leather
  • Dark chocolate
  • Summer
  • Crêpes
  • Funny people
  • Poutine
  • Country music
  • Rain at night
  • French toast
  • Cheese fondue
  • Brand new hoodies

Umm… ya, mostly food related, I know.

Anyway, I hope you’ll say hi! Talk to you soon.

P.S. My photo was taken by the talented Katie Bosdet… check out her work at www.kdbphotography.ca!
